ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi! I'm Yvette Freeman, the heart and soul behind Red Angle Photography. I’m originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a Bennett College alum. After the sudden death of my husband, George, in May 2024, followed immediately by the loss of our 14-year-old Siberian Husky, Trooper Blu, to cancer, and then Hurricane Helene (seriously, 2024 was a rough year), I've been trying to stay upbeat and busy with work, and my two new kitties, Max and Geo, who make me laugh and smile every single day. 

I say all that because I've learned that life is short - too short. It can and will change in an instant, and we need to live life to the fullest, as much as possible, and enjoy and celebrate not only the people we love, but ourselves. And photography is just one of the wonderful ways to do that.

I specialize in timeless portraits and polished headshots, whether they’re formal, relaxed, or somewhere in between. I’ve freelanced as the cover and family photographer for Montford & North Asheville Neighbors magazine, captured editorial images for Edible Asheville, and even launched my own publication, The ENVOY Guide, of which I'm the official photographer for, of course. While North Carolina is home, I love to travel—so if you’re interested in a destination portrait session, let’s make it happen.
