About Red Angle Photography
Red Angle Photography, based in Zirconia, North Carolina, is a completely mobile photography studio, offering various types of photography services, including individual and volume headshots, branding, real estate, and product photography. The company is certified with the City of Asheville, NC as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and with the state of North Carolina as an Historically Underutilized Business (HUB). Despite a large number of photographers in Western North Carolina, owner/photographer Yvette Freeman, has become the preferred photographer for some of the area’s prominent organizations, such as Dogwood Health, Mountain Housing Opportunities, the City of Asheville, and the Western Women’s Business Center. Red Angle Photography has carved a niche in the very crowded marketplace, by providing professional, high quality, fine art-style images that not only stand out, but also stand the test of time.
Owner/Photographer Yvette Freeman is a native of Winston-Salem, NC. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Bennett College (Greensboro, NC) in 1990. Overall, Yvette has nearly 10 years experience as a professional photographer, and more than 30 years experience in communications, public relations, marketing, and higher education publishing. Her background includes working as a television news producer, community newspaper editor, and as a communications director and marketing director for both non-profit and for-profit companies.
Despite being self-taught, within three years of starting her photography business, Yvette became an award-winning portrait photographer, earning 18 awards from The Portrait Masters Image Competition between 2019 and 2021. In 2023, she became an internationally recognized photographer when she earned an Honorable Mention award for one of her images in the prestigious Prix de la Photographie Paris juried awards competition, based in Paris, France. And in the spring of 2025, she was one of 22 finalists, out of 22,000 submissions, in Behind the Shutter’s Top Talent Image competition. Yvette has also worked as a freelance photographer for Asheville, NC publications, such as the Montford & North Asheville Neighbors magazine, and Edible Asheville.
