ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi! I'm Yvette Freeman, owner of Red Angle Photography. I am truly honored that you're interested in a portrait session with me. Here's a little bit of info about me and why I may be the right photographer for you.

I’m originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a magna cum laude graduate of Bennett College, in Greensboro, NC. I spent more than 20 years in broadcast and print media, corporate and non-profit communications, and 11 years in higher education publishing. 

I started Red Angle Photography in 2016 after my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Her medical team suggested showing photos to help remind her of life, and it was then that I realized that although I had grown up always taking photos, I didn't have a single portrait of my mom, or of the two of us together. I then made it my mission to not only create one of us, but to give everyone who wanted it, the opportunity to have beautiful heirloom portraits of themselves and the people they loved. 

Within five years of starting Red Angle Photography, I had earned 18 image competition awards, and in July 2023, I became an internationally recognized photographer, receiving an Honorable Mention Award in the prestigious Prix De La Photographie Paris (PX3), an international juried image competition based in Paris, France.

Now, let me answer your primary question: Why should you hire me as your photographer?

Because my primary goals are:

1) to create a portrait experience that makes you feel confident and at ease,

2) to create beautiful images that you'll truly believe are the best images you've ever seen of yourself, and

3) to provide printed heirlooms and wall art that you and your family will cherish for years, and that you'll want to proudly share and display.

So, if you're looking for a photographer to just point a camera at you, press a button, and then just give you some digital files, I'm not the photographer for you. If you're interested in finely crafted portraits that will change the way you see yourself, then I'd love to work with you.
