Welcome and thank you for considering Red Angle Photography!

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Yvette Freeman, owner and photographer, of Red Angle Photography.

I’m originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a magna cum laude graduate of Bennett College, in Greensboro, NC. I spent more than 20 years in broadcast and print media, corporate and non-profit communications, and 11 years in higher education publishing.

I started Red Angle Photography in 2016 after realizing that I had grown up always taking photos, yet didn't have a single portrait of my mom, or of me with my mom. I then made it my mission to ensure that everyone who wanted it, had the opportunity to have beautiful heirloom portraits of not only themselves, but of the people they loved.

Within five years, I had earned 18 image competition awards, and in July 2023, I became an internationally recognized photographer, receiving an Honorable Mention Award in the prestigious Prix De La Photographie Paris (PX3), an international juried image competition based in Paris, France. View my award-winning images

I’ve freelanced as the cover and family photographer for Montford & North Asheville Neighbors magazine, captured editorial and advertising images for Edible Asheville magazine, and even launched my own magazine, The ENVOY Guide, in 2021, to showcase diversity in business, communities, and the arts.

I'm an advisory board member of the Western Women's Business Center (WWBC), and in April 2023, I was extremely honored to receive its Bubbles Griffin Award for my "dedication and years of service to women’s entrepreneurship."

Now, let me answer the primary question you're probably thinking right now. Why should you choose me as your photographer? Well, I’m here to create an experience that makes you feel at ease, and simply enjoy the process. Being photographed should be a fun experience that results in images you and your family will cherish for generations. I’ll guide you with posing, capture your best smile, and enhance every image with a skilled touch to keep things authentic, yet refined.

With me as your photographer, you’re getting more than beautiful photos — you’re getting a new friend who will ensure you look your absolute best. I want you to display your images with pride, use them in your business, and save them as timeless heirlooms that will one day be passed on to your children and grandchildren. Plus, there’s no hard sell with me; you only buy the images you absolutely love, and products that truly excite you.
