I first met VJ in 2018 when he responded to a model call at my former studio in East Flat Rock. One of the images from our Moor-inspired photo session resulted in a Bronze Award in The Portrait Masters Image Competition in 2019. When I put out a notice about my new Positive Light images brand and project, VJ immediately volunteered to participate and join me in helping to create and promote beautiful, positive imagery of people of color, and especially black men. He even drove three hours to meet my husband and I at the beautiful Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, in Roanoke, Virginia, for our session.  

He describes himself as "a lover of cultures, music, travel, history, and truth", and "a comic book/movie superhero nerd." Batman is his favorite superhero. His passion/life goals are "to flourish within a creative space of music, history, and travel." 

In addition to being a model, he's an assistant property manager in commercial real estate, and a talented singer and songwriter.
